Any Level Of Experience
Discover the Norfolk Broads’ wildlife like never before on this hands-on photography course.
On this full-day course, we’ll explore the Norfolk Broads by open boat, giving you panoramic views of the area and its wildlife. Being on the water lets us get closer to the animals for amazing close-up shots, while also capturing the beauty of the Broads in your photos. Just cruising along the waterways is relaxing in itself.
A focal length of around 400–600mm is ideal. If you’re unsure about what equipment to bring, just get in touch.
All the techniques you need to capture great wildlife images will be covered during the day.
Shutter: sharp photos for fast-moving action
Aperture: in particular shallow DOF
Modes:
ISO
The exposure triangle
Practical tips
We will also spend time on artistic components of photography - composition, light, high-key and low-key will all be covered.
Limited to just four participants, there is plenty of time for one-to-one tuition.
What to Expect
During the course, we’ll be looking for water birds such as kingfishers, great crested grebes, herons, egrets, ducks, geese, and swans. Marsh harriers are often spotted, and we’ll keep an eye out for otters.
There’s also a small chance of seeing a bittern or something else that is special.
Recommended Kit
Telephoto lens (400-600mm)
Monopod for stability (tripods can be cumbersome in the boat)
Weather-appropriate clothing (it may rain)
Clothes you don’t mind getting muddy
Any personal medication
Snacks and drinks (meals are NOT provided)
