Why travel with us to

Tuli, Eastern Botswana?

Typical Operator

FOW's "Big Cats Of Eastern Botswana"

Photography is often secondary to sightseeing

Designed around light, subject behaviour, and creative outcomes

Larger shared vehicles

Exclusive private vehicles, max 3 guests per vehicle

Often quick stops at sightings

Extended, patient encounters

General guiding with limited photographic input

Hands-on, tailored coaching throughout

The Differentiating Factor:

Most Botswana safaris concentrate on the Delta's well-known lodges with premium pricing. This tour distinguishes itself by focusing on Eastern Botswana's exclusive Tuli concession, offering exceptional value whilst maintaining authentic wilderness experiences. The combination of walking safaris, private concession access, and photography-focused guiding provides intimate encounters at a significantly lower price point than typical Botswana offerings.

Why This Tour Is So Unique

Elephants, Big Cats and Brown Hyena

This region boasts large herds of elephants. In fact is supports one of the largest populations on private land anywhere in Africa. It also enjoys classic African wildlife: lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, zebra, wildebeest, eland and other plains game ... and this is one of the best places in Africa to see the elusive Brown Hyena. There are a number of known dens in this area, so there is a good chance we will see and photograph one!

Photography as the First Priority

Unlike standard safaris, where sightings are the goal, this tour builds each day around photographic potential — light, subject behaviour, background, and narrative. You’ll have time to explore multiple creative approaches on every drive.

Exclusive Vehicles & Small Group Dynamic

We use two private six-seater vehicles, each with just three guests alongside an experienced driver and photographic host. This means:

  • No jockeying for position

  • Personal input from your photographic host

  • Freedom to linger on scenes that matter

Time With Subjects That Reward Creativity

Botswana is exceptional because animals here are relaxed and behaviours unfold over time. We take advantage of that by spending extended periods with subjects — allowing you to:

  • Anticipate key moments

  • Capture behaviour sequences

  • Work a scene as light evolves

Ethical, Natural Encounters

We don’t chase sightings, crowd around other vehicles, or use bait. We respect wildlife and let scenes unfold naturally — which often leads to stronger, more authentic images.

What You’ll See & Photograph

Eastern Botswana’s diverse terrain provides varied subjects — from elephants at waterholes to lions lounging in golden light. You’ll also encounter:

  • Leopards and nocturnal predators

  • Hyena clans and warthogs

  • Antelope and bird species

  • The rich patterns of Botswana’s landscapes

Every scene is an opportunity for deliberate image-making, not just a quick point-and-shoot. Focused On Wildlife

In-Field Photographic Guidance

This tour blends safari driving with hands-on support:

  • Anticipating behaviour and creating anticipation in your shots

  • Working with light direction and golden hour opportunities

  • Composing images that balance wildlife, habitat, and atmosphere

  • Converting moments into cohesive stories, not isolated frames

  • Guidance is tailored to your experience, with plenty of time for one-on-one support. Focused On Wildlife

Daily Rhythm & Experience

You’ll head out twice daily:

  • Morning drives to catch first light and early animal activity

  • Afternoon into evening drives where light deepens and behaviour changes

Between drives, there’s time to review images, share insights as a group, and rest before your next photographic opportunity. Focused On Wildlife

What You’ll Leave With

A stronger photographic eye

Images you are proud to share and expand upon

More confidence with light and behaviour

A deeper connection to Botswana’s wild places

This is not a typical safari. It’s a focused wildlife photography adventure for photographers who want to slow the pace, observe more behaviour, and create images beyond snapshots. In eastern Botswana you’ll spend extended time with wildlife, learn to anticipate action, and work with light and composition you can apply to any location afterwards.
